  Trees To Energy

Let me tell you about the forest resources we have,
that can give our energy pains a much deserved salve.

With sunlight under the influence of chlorophyll,
trees are formed, that can fill the bill.

The forest is a factory for this biomass fuel,
a locally available, carbon neutral energy pool.

A little appreciated fact that we should know,
each forested acre adds 1 to 4 tons per year in trees that grow.

Grown and harvested in a responsible way,
this renewable resource is sustainable, yeah!

To improve the forest for health and productivity one sees,
that removals must be made of crowded, crooked and diseased trees.

The removed low grade woods, have some value they might,
in supplying a portion of our insatiable energy appetite.

We can include logging and sawmill residues,
for their contribution we'd not want to lose.

Low grade materials when converted into chips,
allow the handling and burning to proceed in automatic clips.

Current users of wood energy chips are enjoying savings over costs colossal,
they would be experiencing with fuels that are fossil.

So we should include the consideration of biomass,
in order to fulfill some of the energy demand we amass.
