for residents of PA, N.Y, N.J, MD & DE. (Note: no entry fees)

Photo-Haiku (3 line poem)

Does the image of a Society of Robots devoid of the spirit of Art make you sad? The best thing to reverse that pervasive trend is not with war but with the beauty of images and words.

Before uploading your photograph, you MUST adhere to the following restrictions:
File size is not to exceed 2 MB and must be in .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format. Please double check the file size and file type of your photograph BEFORE uploading. One photograph per entry. Deadline is midnight September 10, 2010. Participants must be over 18 years old. Only one entry per person is allowed, so write a good haiku the first time.

Your entry should be on one of the following subjects:
1. Victorian era
2. Town of Jim Thorpe, Pa
3. Mountains

A panel of artists and poets will select three finalists. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded during Art Odyssey, September 25 and 26.

First place: Two-day stay at the Manor B&B, plus dinner for two in Jim Thorpe.
Second place: Weekday stay at Hill Home Forge B&B, plus a $50 gift certificate toward an original Nic East Jewelry design, and an autographed Haiku Book.
Third place: Weekday stay at the Manor B&B $50 Gift certificate at Selective Eye Gift shop.
Two honorable mentions: Autographed Haiku Book and a $25 Gift certificate at Selective Eye Gift shop.

Entries will be judged on how well they capture the spirit of the Victorian era, the town of Jim Thorpe, PA, or the mountains. Judging will be based one third on the creativity of the haiku, one third on the composition/originality of the photograph, and one third on relevance to the chosen theme. Many entries will be displayed at Art Galleries throughout Jim Thorpe During Art Odyssey weekends.

Terms and conditions
Participants must be over 18 years of age.
The ownership of all the art entered is retained by the person who created it.
Contest managers reserve the right to show any or all entries, sell one copy to offset the costs of running this contest, and retain one copy for our archives.
Contestants may apply a light water mark to their work or send a digital copy in a low resolution. Be sure to keep a copy of all your work.
